By Josh Cadle, Head of Operations at JLR for Rudolph & Hellmann Automotive
When Rudolph & Hellmann were appointed as the onsite logistics provider for JLR in April 2025, we knew we were stepping into a deeply significant chapter of the UK’s automotive evolution. We hit the ground running with a clear mandate: to deliver a flawless start to a landmark logistics contract where precision, agility, and absolute reliability weren’t just targets – they were the baseline.
Today, less than a year into that journey, the incredible team at the Battery Assembly Centre (BAC) has achieved a milestone that echoes far beyond the factory floor. They have officially built their 100,000th battery.

For anyone outside the cleanroom environment of modern electrification, 100,000 might just look like a massive number on a spreadsheet. But from where I stand, managing the complex, fast-moving puzzle of production and inbound logistics that feeds the line, I see that number differently. I see 100,000 instances of perfect timing. I see thousands of hours of flawless execution, seamless team integration, and a shared dedication to quality between JLR and the Rudolph & Hellmann onsite team.
A milestone like this doesn’t happen by accident. It is the direct result of an unbroken chain of operational excellence. For our R&H teams, our job is to ensure that the heartbeat of the plant never skips a beat—getting the right high-value components to the exact right station at the exact right second. When you are handling the building blocks of the next generation of luxury vehicles, the margin for error is zero.
Seeing the sheer pride on the floor as the 100,000th unit rolled through was a brilliant reminder of why we do what we do. Our “Home-Grown Timber” culture at R&H is built entirely on developing people who understand our clients’ needs inside and out. There is no better feeling than seeing that dedication translate into major industrial triumphs for our partners.
Ulas Bagci, JLR’s Operations Director for Batteries, captured the spirit of the entire operation perfectly when he shared his reflection on the milestone:
“Every individual across BAC has played a vital role in making this possible. And I am always proud to be part of BAC, which I define as JLR’s base camp in the long journey of electrification. Here’s to the next 100,000 – and to driving forward, stronger than ever, toward the future of electrified mobility.”

Ulas is spot on
The BAC truly is the base camp for JLR’s incredibly ambitious electrification strategy. As any climber will tell you, a successful push from base camp requires an elite support team, absolute trust, and a rock-solid logistical foundation.
To the entire team across the BAC – both JLR personnel and our own Rudolph & Hellmann logistics specialists -thank you for your tireless work, your sharp focus and your relentless drive. You didn’t just hit a production target; you proved that the future of British automotive manufacturing is being built on world-class collaboration. We are incredibly proud to keep the wheels turning behind the scenes. Here’s to the next 100,000, and to continuing to power the journey forward together.
